We did not film on Tuesday due to the school having parents evening so we rescheduled for Friday 10th December.
In today's lesson we continued to edit our video with the recent footage of the gorillas we shot last Monday. The video started to come together and look like a music video however we want tp reshoot some of this footage with the music track playing because it will encourage the actors more and we will get better quality footage. We will also be more prepared unlike last time as we will have the song with us and bring extra lighting. It was a pain editing the video thought because the footage took a while to render because there was quite a bit to render which mean't we had to wait around more about 8 minutes and then do some more editing and wait another 8 minutes for that to render. This also made it hard to line some of the shots up because the playback was jumping and made it difficult to sync the lips to the singing.

Initial Digipack Idea.
My initial idea is pretty simple but effective. I am going to stick with the fonts and colour scheme of my homepage and use it on my digipack which enables me to experiment with photos of the artist to use that may not necessarily resemble the homepage because people will immediately see the link of the text and colours. However with my photos, i will represent the video by using the same locations.
My cover will have a portrait photo of the artist (actor) postioned to one side of the frame with his name and title on the opposite side. I will also need to put a parental advisory sticker on one of the bottom corners.
On the left side, inside, i will have another photo of the artist in a different location and position that i will fade into the black background with an inspiring quote from Professor Green himself about his album. of life in general.
On the spine i will just have the text 'Professor Green Alive Till Im Dead In The Ear Records'
On the right side i will have either another photo of the artist and quite or a photo of a location used with a quote.
As i am doing an album cover i will put a tracklist on the back of the album.
Here is a rough drawing of my idea.

Digipack Research.
For strong research i have chosen an artist of the same genre as my artist, Hip Hop/Rap, and analyse the conventions used for that genre and use these in creating my iconography. The artist i am going to look at is OutKast. He is an American Hip Hop/Rap artist.
This is his Digipack cover.
This is his website.
This is his website.
If you scroll down the site background changes to black.
OutKast have used their iconography of two opposed colours, in this case black and white and has used this in both the digipack and website. This is a very good effect especially when there are two artist as it shows two different identities. My artist is only one person but if i wanted to i could still use this technique of two colours and make the artist look like he has two personalities. However i will not use this effect as the artists music does not give this message across. A convention that OutKast has used is one i immediately knew i was going to use when producing my digipack. This is a photo of the artist, i will use a mid shot of our actor playing Professor Green as the cover of my digipack and some other shots of him to go on the inside.
The digipack and website both have the same artist logo on them in clear straight view for the audience. The only difference between the logos is a small amount of editing done to it which is a good thing to do because it shows effort. By this i mean it shows that the designers have not just created one thing and used it on all of their merchandise and products, they have thought about adapting it to each product to give a slight different look to the others. I will definitely take this on board as it is something i immediately picked up on. They also have the name of the album nice and clear on the front on the cover which does not actually reflect on the website anywhere which can be seen as a negative. But for these artist it is understandable and fine because they have been around for many years and produced a lot of albums and singles so they have to have a design that acts as a basis for all albums. Whereas i do not need to do this because this is my artist first, big, album so i will be able to create a slightly better iconography than OutKast.

Second Day Filming
Monday was our second day of filming which started badly due to one of our main characters, the boy playing P.G, told us he was coming but didn't turn up because he had family arrangements which he forgot about. This then meant that the gils who played our lions turned up but we had to tell them we didn't need them because we could film none of their parts without the main actor which was very embarrassing and unprofessional. We went to the skatepark location to film the gorillas parts but that didn't go to plan either due to lack of lighting at the location. But we did not have time to change the locations so we improvised and used the flashlight on our phones which did work but obviously, not as well as if there was street lights.
I thought our actors, being 17 and all, would understand the point and importance of being involved in the project as they understand the quality A Level work needs to be but they didn't act how i thought they would. We explained to them and showed them what they needed to do and how they needed to act but it was as if they were shy around each other. Which was nonsense because they all knew each other and go to the same college. Again the weather was against us, being incredibly cold, we could not waste no time so we got multiple shots that we planned to get. However, stupidly, none of the group had the song on their mobile and the one member of the group who did was not present because he was busy doing something else. Which meant we could not do the shots where the main character/artist, Maverick, had to sing as he knew the words but needed the music to sing it in time and feel the music.
